SWANSEA MAKE A
GOOD START
BRIGHT OUTLOOK FOR WELSH RUGBY
(By Rowe Harding)
London, September 15.
LAST Saturday's Rugby in Wales provided some interesting re- sults, and now we have some idea where Welsh Rugby stands. Swansea's success over Bristol, and particularly the manner of I was the most significant and encouraging victory of the “All Whites" for years. Next Saturday Swansea play Cardiff, who followed their win over Bristol with a narrow victory over Neath. The latter obviously are still a formidable side.
This will, I think, be the match of the day, and I favour Swan sea's chances, partly because they will be playing at home, but more particularly because, I think, there is more flexibility and more subtlety about Swansen's back division. In other respects the teams are about as equal in merits as they could be.
Bridgend, fresh from a triumph over Coventry and an honour- able defeat by a galaxy of international talent at Leicester, were soundly beaten by Aberavon, who will certainly be a power in Welsh Rugby this season.
