CLIMAX TO 1932 CRIME

Flemington, New Jersey, To-day.

Richard Hauptmann was yesterday indicted on the charge of the murder of the Lindbergh baby by a Grand Jury consisting of 20 men and three women, mostly parents, who were charged by the Judge to indict Hauptmann on a murder charge if the State presented sufficient evidence that the child met its death' accidentally, or in- tentionally, at the hands of Hauptmann.

The Judge said that the Jury had been called for the pur pose of presenting evidence which the State thought tended to show that Hauptmann had murdered the Lindbergh baby on March

1, 1982. The evidence, he said, would show that the child had

been killed as the result of a blow infilcted by the accused.

The indictment declared that Hauptmann. "On or about March 1, 1982, with force and arms, did wilfully, feloniously, and with malicious aforethought, kill and murder Charles Lindbergh Junior."

THE HEARING OF WITNESSES AND THE DELIBERA- TIONS OF THE JURY OCCUPIED 4 HOURS, 42 MINUTES. REUTER.
