Intoxication Alleged In Early Hours
SERGEANT IN HOSPITAL
Two traffic summonses were pre
ferred against Mr. T. Cranston, of the Hong Kong Jockey Club, and driver of private car No. 1497, this morning before Mr. E. W. Hamil ton at the Central Magistracy. He was summoned for driving without due care and caution, and for driv ing when in a state of intoxication.
It will be remembered thut in the early hours of September 17. L'olice Sergeant Fitzpatrick, was knocked down by a car, alleged to have been driven by Mr. Cranston, in Wan- chai Road. Sergeant Fitzpatrick was admitted to the Government Civil Hospital, suffering from in- juries to his right leg. Sergeant Fitzpatrick is still in hospital, but it was stated this morning that hel will be able to leave the hospital to, give evidence next month.
Mr. R. H. Cole, of Messrs. Brut- ton and Company, appearing for the defence, pleaded not guilty to the summonses, which were ad. journed by the Magistrate until
