New York, To-day.

While the Textile Union chiefs are gathered at Washington to consider peace proposals, the textile strike is being continued unabated. Strike leaders claim that there has been no weak- ening of the strike since yesterday and that ad- ditional mills are closed.

Threats of a general strike if the textile strike is unsuccess- ful were made by Mr. Fuller, Educational Director of the United Textile Workers Union, In an address at Macon, Georgia, yesterday. Both strikers and mill-owners in North and South Carolina have prepared another offensive for Monday.

THE POLICE YESTERDAY SCATTERED 500 PICKETS AT CLIFTON HEIGHTS, PHILADELPHIA, AND ARRESTED 20, WHILE STRIKERS SÉIZED THE FIRE STATION AT HUNTING- DON, PHILADELPHIA. ANOTHER CROWD STORMED THE LOCAL MILL.

SEEK TO HALVE HER CONTRIBUTION

Geneva, To-day. China's demand that her contri: bution to the League of Nations be halved, made yesterday by Mr. Quo Tai-chi, Chinese Ambassador to London and concurrently chief Chinese representative at Geneva, was backed by a threat to veto. the Budget if satisfaction is not obtained during the Fourth Com- mittee Meeting.

Such a threat might hold up 'all the League's work, as unanimity is required to pass the Budget.

There is, however, umch sym-{ pathy with the Chinese attitude. Great Britain proposed a revi sion of assessments whereby all the four permanent members of the League Council pay 105 Junits, which Great Britain now pays. This make the contribu

sia the same as Great Britain and will enable a 5 per cent. re- duction for other countries.

The Italian delegate, however, declared the impossibility of Italy increasing her contribution. Router.
