Constantinople, former Turkish capital, overlooking Straits: Seeking to recall the spirit that once carried the Moslem crescent almost throughout the Medita• ranean basin, the pations of the near east are beginning to stir again with agitation for unity in Tur key, Perala and Arabia. Strong national influences are tending towards a union, which eventually might create new power in Asia Minor. Riza Kahn Pehleri, ex-Cossack soldier, now King of Persia; Ibn Saud, "Napoleon" of southern Arabia, and Mustapha Kemal, Dictator-President of Turkey, are leading the new spirit. The latter has asked that the Lausame treaty restrictions concerning demilitarisa-
