Medical Evidence
After the plans of the area, around the nullah had been pro- duced, Dr. D. J. Valentine was call- ed...
In the course of his evidence hel said that he was of the opinion that the accused was only slightly, in- toxicated when brought to the Government Civil Hospital. This opinion was confirmed from results of the analysis made.
He was kept under mental ob servation from the time of his ad- mission until July 6, after which witness came to the conclusion that! he was mentally sound.
The wound on Michael Pine's head was moré consistent with a fall from a height rather than be-; ing knocked from side to side in the nullah.
.
Cross-examined by Mr. Lim, wit- neas would not agree that it would be equally consistent, but rather in the light of a fall from a height.
Referring to the accused, witness said that as far as he knew noth- ing had been given to him to. drink] on admission. He had been order- ed medicine that night and salts) the next morning.
Witness agreed that it was main- ly on the result of the analysis that he had formed the opinion that the accused was only slightly drunk at the time of admission... He did not consider, as his first impression. that the accused was thoroughly| drunk. The accused had said that

New Mexica The tide of American tourists that formerly surged towards Europe and other foreign lands has turned to "see America-first”, now that the dollar is selling at a discount throughout the world. The huge areas filled with caverns, boiling springs, petrified trees, and colton toil rabbits has become the meces of a swarm of vaca- tionists. From Maine to Callfornia, from Mount Rainler, in the northwest, to the Florida Everglades, patriotic Americans and for- eigners who are now visiting the U.S., due to the low dollar, are discovering a primitive, virgin continent that has withstood the en- croachments of the machine age.
