Breach Of Contract In` Share Purchase.
7 PER CENT. INTEREST CLAIMED
Mr. A. A. R. Botelho, a local broker and well-known amateur .jockey, was the plaintiff in a claim for 3703 before Mr. P. Jacks, at the Supreme Court this morning, against Jose Choy Anok, care of the Banco Nation al Ultramarino. of Macno.
The claim is for damages for breach of contract for the purchase. of 500 shares of the Hong Kong and Shanghai Hotels, Ltd., Plaintiff now claims interest at the rate of 7 per cent. from January 24.
Plaintiff, in evidence, stated that the defendant-did not give him any margin when he applied to him on January 18 and gold the shares.
Mr. G. Ford, of Messrs. Wilkinson and Grist, appeared for the plaintiff. while the defendant was represented by Mr. F. X. D'Almadin, senlor.
NO DIFFICULTIES
Plaintiff admitted that he fell into difficulties just before the set-l tlement on January 23 and that thej Association had taken
over his shares on his behalf. He later set- tled his liabilities paying 26 per| ceni. in cash and the remainder in 1 . part payment. llc denied, however, that the Brokers' Association had taken over his liabilities, adding that they would not have cared to take on such a responsibility.
