Grave Toll.

BENGAL TOPS - LIST

New Delhi. Sixty-four persons were killed. and 129 were injured, in 323 po- litical outrages.

This is the record of terrorism in India for three years from January 1991 to February 1934, according to Mr. Hallett, Home Secretary, who made a statement in, the Legislative Assembly.

20 Government officials were killed, 50 Government officials were injured, 44 others killed, and 79 injured. -

Bengal tops the list with 210 political outrages, 15 officials killed. 28 officials injured, 23 (others · (including terrorists)

killed and 48 injured.

The terrorist outrages in Ben- gal included:-13 murderous out- rages, 13 attempts at outragies, | 76 dacoities, 7 attempted dacoi- ties. 46 robberies, 14 attempted robberies, 10 bomb throwing, bomb explosions, 1 armed raid, and 1 unclassified. "

An analysis of the number of political outrages in the whole of India shows:-210 in Bengal, 36| in U.P., 20 in Punjab. 17 in Bom- bay. 14 in Bihar and Orissa, 13 in Assam, 6 in North West Fron-i tier. 6 in Madras, 6 in Central Provinces, 4 in Delhi, Níl in Bur- ma-Reuter.
