Silver Prices Advance.

The local dollar has declined. opening on demand to-day at 1/5.

Both spot and forward silver prices advanced 1/16, closing yes- terday at 19% and 19 15/16, res- pectively.

The London on New York erosa- rate, which closed on Tuesday at US$5.04% closed yesterday at -U.S.$5.04%. The New York on London rate closed yesterday at £-U.S.$5.03%, as compared with £-U.S.$5.04% on Tuesday.

MR. CROUCHER WINS HIS CASE,

$81,188 Share Claim.

Judgment was given by the Chief Justice, Mr. A. D. A, MacGregor, at the Supreme Court this morning in la claim by Mr. N. A. V. Croucher, a local share-broker, for $81,188.93, money alleged to be due for shares transferred to the late Mr. Wo Hay Tong, former compradore of the shipping department of Messra. But- terfeld and Swire, and carried by the plaintiff.

The defendants in the claim were the executors of the estate of the late Mr. Woo, Mesars. S. T. Butlin AC- and H. R. Forsyth, chartered countants of Gloucester Building.
