LEAD CHINA'S AIR BOOM. -

Nowhere in the world is aviation enjoying such a boom as it is in China today. The belief that Japan's suc cessful invasion of Manchuria and Jehol was due to Nippon'a command of the air awakened China to the value of the airplane, both as a military arm and as a means of transportation. General Chiang Kai-Shek. former President of the Republic, and Marshal Chang Haeob-Liang, former war lord of Manchuria, are the moving spirits behind the aviation boom. America is the chief beneficiary. During the past year, millions -af dollars worth of planes and equipment has been sold to China by U. 8, manufacturers. American instruc trs are teaching young China w fy Captain Frank Hawks, noted U. S. spend ler, recently delivered a bombing plane & the National Government. If it is regarded as satisfactory. It will be the first of ́a fiest of such craft.
