THAT POLO!"
ST. ANDREWS, CAPITAL OF THE GOLFING WORLD, IS MOURN- ING ANDREW KIRKALDY, THE 74-YEARS-OLD" PROFESSIONAL TO THE ROYAL AND ANCIENT CLUB. WHO DIED RECENTLY AFTER AN ILLNESS LASTING ONLY A FEW DAYS.
“Andra,” as he was known to every golfer who visited St. Andrews, was probably the best-known personality in golf.
He was not so much a professional golfer as an institu. tion, a part of the game at St. Andrews, and the premier club honoured him by lowering their flag to half-mast.
With his passing is broken the last link between the great masters who played golf with guttie balls and the present generation.

THE PRINCE'S DRIVE To recount even a few of the incidents of his life as a profes- sional would fill volumes.
