NEW DOGS HOME AT KOWLOON CITY

The hope that the local' Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Ani- male would become affiliated to other Societies in the East and thus gain more strength, was expressed by. Mr. J. Russell, who presided at the annual meeting of the S.P.C.A., held Fat Lane Crawford's Restaurant, last

evening.

Mr. Russell added the hope that this would take place in the ensuing year and that there would be N Eastern Society in connection with cruelty to animals.

Reference was made to the nnan-i cial drive, and tribute was paid to the work done by Lady Pollock in this connection. He also thanked all the subscribers, and those who zave up their time in going out for aubscriptions.

Owing to the financial position of the Society the proposed appoint- ment of a Veterinary Surgeon could not be made. They had however, obtained the services of a qualified man who was in constant attendance, particularly at the Dogs' Home.

The New Home.

The Chairman pointed out that they were now privileged to visit the killing rooms of markets, bus enabling the inspectors to report on any cases of cruelty discovered.

The most important part of the Society's work during the season [was a new dogs' home at Sung Wong [Toi (Kowloon City), which he hoped
