Decrease In Receipts On Transfer To Jordan Rd.
NET EARNINGS DECLARED LOWER AT MEETING
The net earnings of the Hong Kong Yaumati Ferry Co., Ltd.. are considerably lower than those of last year, it was reported at the annual meeting, which was held in the Company's board room at the New Jordan Road Pier this morning.
Mr. Lau Tak Po, the managing director. presided and was support- ed by the following directors: the Hon. Mr. T. N. Chau, Dr. Kwan Sum Yin, Dr. F. H. Kew, Messrs. Kwok Chuen, Wong Tsai Hoo, Wong Ping Suen, Choy Wai Hung. Chan Kam Yung, and Young Tsun. Dart. Over fifty shareholders were also present.
Mr. Lau Tak Po, the managing director and chairman, presented his report as follows:
"You will note that the net esrn. ings are considerably lower than those of last year.
This is due to several reasons. namely:-
1. The payment of Royalties and increased rentals to the Govern-
ment.
