To-day, Replying to a series of questions in the House of the Commons. yesterday, Foreign Secretary, Sir John Simon, give the assurance that no opportunity would be lost to promote the resumption of the mail service through Man- churia; but as the matter in- volves political issues, he de- clined at present to accept the suggestion that representa- tions be made to China that mails be transmitted via Man- churia and Dairen.

The nature of the reply to recent Chinese Government note in regard to the Treaty of Tientsin. of 1868, and the Commercial Treaty of 1902, was now being considered in consultation with the Depart- partments of the Government concerned, and pending the completion of the consulta tion, it was impossible for him to make a statement in regard to its terms, stated Sir John Simon in reply to a ques- tion on that matter.-Reuter.

Senator Pope yesterday said that he would urge President. He asserted that when the Secretary for India, Sir Samud Hoare, in 1933, learned what evi- dence the Manchester Chamber of Commerce proposed to submit to the Indian Select Committee, he, with others, notably.
