When Great Players
Get Together.
by Ely CulbertION.
THE CHINA MAIL.
get
When four master players together, it seems that there is no limit to the new tricks and brilliant coups which sparkle through the course of their bidding and play. It is always a pleasure to play in auch a game or watch it for the skill exceeds mere technical sound- ness and reaches into the realms of the higher psychology.
I have seldom seen a more fas cinating series of export pinye,
all of which were based upon the finest sort of analysis, than those which came about when the hand which I am giving in full below Was played. After a succession of stereotyped deals, whose drab- ness had almost discouraged me from further kibitzing,.suddenly after the usual sort of deal and commonplace bidding, this situa tion developed, and my faith the delight of watching games was restored.
