Mr. 8. H. Garrod, Hon. Secretary of the Rugby Section of the Hong Kong Football Club, informed me last night that he had received a cable from the Japanese Rugby Union to the effect that they were, quite agreeable to the Australian tourists playing in Hong Kong on their way to Japan.

Though word had previously been received in Hong Kong that the tourists were agreeable to playing in the Colony on their way North, provided the Japanese authorities sanctioned the game, it was at one time thought improbable that the Japanese Rugby Union would jeo- pardise gate receipts by allowing the team to play en route.
