The valuation of cards held by the supporting hand in a trump bid canviste of;

1. Trump length and honours in partners suit bid.

2. Low cards and honour tricks in side sulte.

3. Ruffing tricks due to sport suit (voids, singletons and double- tons).

The value of Dummy's trumps are independent of the main trump suit The reason is that the in- creased length in Dummy will pro mote the favourable distribution of Declarer's trump suit, and thereby increase possibility of dropping any outstanding honour.

The chief characteristic of the supporting hand is in the use 0: zuffing tricks. These are not count- ed as evra tricks in the opening hand, but acquire & special value in Dummy, and occasionally i opponents' hands, These rung trick values are due to the fuel that otherwise worthless trumps in Hummy can be utilised in ruffing losers from the opening hand.
