New York, To-day. Silver showed weakness on the Commodity Exchange here, yester day, the nominal quotation for September declining from 40.95 centa. ta 40.50 cents per ounce March silver, traded on Tuesday at 42.15 cents, was yesterday trad- ed at 41.40.

Sales showed an increase, 422 contracts of 25,000 ounces being

traded.
