Smart work on the part of the Fire Brigade was responsible for the rescue of 25 inmates, who were evacuated by means of the Fire Brigade ladders from the third floor. Two children were suffocated in the kitchen on the third floor, before help could reach them. Their bodies were saved by the firemen from the flames.

Harbin, To-day, To-day's four-hour heated con- ference between Manchukuo and the Soviet directors of the Chinese Eastern Railway only discussed the question of the limitation of the powers of the Soviet General Man- ager of the Railway.
