Request From Canton.
News has been received by the Chinese Amateur Athletic Federa. tion from Canton that the Chinese Provincial Swimming meeting, a preliminary to the 1934 Far East- ern Olympiad in Manila, will be held on September 7, 8 and 9.
As these dates clash with those fixed by the H.K.I.A.S.A. for the Colony Championships the local swimming Association have been asked if they would kindly alter their dates to the preceding week, as the Canton meeting is being held in the river and the tide dur- ing that period is best suited to their purpose.
