Choosing Correct] Powder

Practices That Should Be Avoided.

How do you choose your powders and creams-on the recommenda- tions of your friends or in the flight of personal experiments? · Though the latter is obviously the better method-for the reason that what suits your friend's skin may very well spoil yours many women use this or that preparation be- cause their friends use it. Some of them actually change their face cream each time they hav・occa- sion to buy any--not because they are carrying out tests to find what! particular kind suits them best, but because each new friend or ac-- quaintance recommends something different from the last.

This is a practice which ought to be firmly resisted. There is nothing to be said against making changes so long as these are experi- mental, but indiscriminate chang- ing is only likely to result in bad |complexiona.

If your skin is coarse and you suffer from enlarged pores, you need an astringent cream. On the other hand, if you have an exces- sively dry skin, it is likely to be- come drier still, and to crack and wrinkle as well, if you choose a sufficiently cream which is not greasy to make up for the lack of natural oils.

DECORATED FINGER.

NAILS.

Bridge Set On Each Hand.

Women's finger nails will be decorated by letters, pictures and emblems, instead of being tinted, according to the latest fashion de- cree of beauty-shop owners whose annual convention recently opened at New York.

One favourite letter set for eight fingers now in use spells out "I Love You." Other talking finger messages are: "Be True to Me" and "Happy Days."

Pictures for fingers nails include fruit, flowers, animals-and-scenes- of mountains and countryside paint- ed with the miniaturist's art.

A Bridge set supplies sach hand with one Spade, a Heart, a Dia- mond and a Club, and it is hoped that feminine players will be ethi- cal enough not to use their fingers as signals to their partners.

Is Your Child &

Winner?

Or do other children usually carry off the prizes? Of course, you can- nat expect him to come out on top every time, but nevertheless you do not like him to be always just an "also ran".
