WESTON'S SECOND WIN

London, To-day.

Lord Derby's Hyperion (Weston) won the Epsom Derby yesterday by four lengths at 6 to 1 odds from Sir Cuncliffe Owen's King Salmon |(Harry Wragg) at 7 to 1, covering the 12 miles in the re cord time of 2.34.0 to give Lord Derby his second triumph in the Blue Riband of English racing, Mr. V. Emanuel's Statesman (Childs), at 20 to 1, was third, a length behind King Salmon, while Lord Durham's Scarlet Tiger (A. Wragg) was fourth in the field of 24 starters.

Lord Derby's only other suc- cess in the Epsom classic was recorded in 1924 when Tommy Weston brought Sansovino home first in a field of 27 to pay 9 to 2 odds-this was also Weston's only other win in the Derby.

Hyperion clipped two-fifths of a second from Call Boy's 1927 record. Call Boy was owned by Mr. F. Curzon and ridden by E. C. Elliott.

Gordon Richards, champion Jockey, though-riding-the-far--- ourite, falled to record his first Derby triumph, his mount fin- ishing well in the rear,

"C" DIVISION TENNIS TO-DAY

SEVEN MATCHES TO OPEN 1933 SEASON

FORMIDABLE ARMY CHALLENGE

Seven matches will open the "C" Division Lawn Tennis League this: afternoon, and several close encounters are assured.

The Recreio, the Hong Kong Cricket Club, Craigengower, In- dian Recreation Club, Army Tennis Club and Kowloon Cricket Club should win, while the Kowloon Indians may just avoid a division of spoils against the Civil Service.

The Army representatives look the most likely challengers in a year in which the Chinese Recreation Club will be hard pressed to re- tain their title. The champions are not playing to-day; they will com mence their fixtures next week against the Radio Sports Club.
