TRUCE DETAILS VERBAL AND
PROVISIONAL
No More Fighting Unless Negotiations Fail
Peking, To-day.
It is reliably reported that the Sino-Japanese peace agreement marks the Japanese military line and provides for the withdrawal of the Chinese troops to the south thereof.
Chinese and Japanese delegates will negotiate the final deails of the truce which, if successful, will lead to the Japanese withdrawal to the Great Wall.
It is certain there will be по more fighting unless subsequent ne- gotiations break down.
Details of the truce are provisional and verbal and not yet signed.
The truce will be followed by an aide memoire.
Agreement was reached after negotiations beginning Monday, evening and lasting all night and mos!
of Tuesday. General Huang Fu, chief Chinese repre- sentative, and the Japanese authorities rescinded an arrange. ment to convey all Japanese in Peking city to the Legation Quarter.
Instead of sending out small patrols the Japanese will safe-j guard Japanese citizens in-their homes. Shopkeepers are warned not to be alarmed by this arrange-i ment. Reuter,

GERMANY MAY`` WITHDRAW OWING TO FRENCH DEMANDS
GENEVA, TO-DAY.

It is understood that representatives of the Little Entente also sent very pressing representations to Paris. It is reported that considerable tension exists between France, on one hand, and Poland and the Little Entente on the other.
