NEW FORM OF HULL.

Sir Joseph Isherwood's Latest Invention.

It is understood that Sir Joseph W. Isherwood, Bart., patentee of the "Isherwood" and "Bracketless" system of shop construction, has in- vented a new form of hull, and has had most exhaustive tests carried. out at the National Physical Labora

recent ¡tory, Teddington, during

months.

The results of these tests are so satisfactory that it is stated that this model will produce the most economical and efficient ship yeti built in regard to deadweight carry-1 ing capacity, coal consumption and Arst cost.

Sir Joseph Isherwood is at pre- sent negotiating with British ship- builders for the construction of six of these vessels.

The vessels are primarily signed as coal-burners, and have expansion engines.
