No change in the local dollar reported this morning, the opening rate being 1/3%.

Following their decline of 1/16 yesterday, silver prices fell another similar fraction, the spot and for- ward quotation being 17 and 17 1/16 respectively, this morning.

The pound sterling strengthened considerably, the London on New York cross rate being quoted to- day at £-G63.43% as against £-G$3.- 41 yesterday. The New York on London rate improved from £-G$3.- 41 to £-G3:46.

The Official Summary of the Stock Exchange issued yesterday: The investment section continu- ed to be on the easy side to-day, but there was a revival of interest in the minor issues, notably in China Lights which would seem to have recovered from the effects of the award, closing at $9.70 bid.
