MAY MEET TO-DAY.

(By Rapier.)

THE defeat of Diana Bay on to have a second place to his credit. Saturday must not be taken as Mr. Frost's riding on Sitting Bull was a pleasure to watch. Had Mr. Y. T. Fung been able to push Goy Crusader more than he did he would have won in spite of the champion jockey's magnificent riding.

an indication that the Champion is nut as good as she was or that she could be beaten to-day by any decent "A" class pony. It was purely an error of judgment on Mr. Hill's part;

Noronha and Mr. D. Black were out in a couple of races.

TICKYBEAK ran very convinc- ingly up to the distance post in the Sydney Maidens, but then cracked up badly in spite of Mr. G. A. Harriman's vain attempts to keep his place in the first three. Ngtuk was another pony to raise false hopes. He went beautifully up to the Rock, where he was in the lead, and then faded right out The latter pony, of the picture, however, is a beauty and Mr. G. W. Sewell can be assured of a win on him. He is strikingly like Wood- land Stag in appearance.

Is the pony to watch in the Derby. It is a freak and a true "dark-horse.” He might have appeared in three races on Saturday, but he did not. This may be significant pointer.
