Podmore's inclusion as forward came as a great sur- prise, as he is definitely a de- fender, and his services would be invaluable in the latter position.
C. Pile of the Police, who has played in a previous interport as a left back, has been given the outside left position.
This move on the part of the selectors is beyond all reason.
The dropping of E. Strange from the inside left position is entirely uncalled for. He would make a dashing partner for A. V. Gosano, and he usually combines very effectively with his wing man.

Pardoe played a good game and had little difficulty in keeping Hill under control, although at times he was easily beaten by the speedy Gosano, who gave an excellent ac- count of himself with very little support.
One of the outstanding Army players on the field was Podmore, of the Borderers, who was min- doubtedly the best half on the field. He exhibited ball control of the very best standard.
His dribbling was perfect prid safe and he very often carried himself through the Civilian's 'de- fence with ease. It is a pity that only three Service men are allow ed in the Interport side, otherwise I would without hesitation suggest
