M. Herriot has declined the Invitation of the President of France to attempt to 'form a new Government.
The former Radical minis- ter, M. Chautemps, at Presí. dent Lebrun's designation, has decided to accept the task of choosing a new Cabinet and will attempt to obtain a work- ing majority in the Chamber of Deputies.
M. Herriot's Government was defeated on the War Debts issue by an overwhelm- ing vote and the Prime Minis- ter whose term of office wES distinguished by the coment- ing of Anglo-French relations, resigned at once.
But the new administration is not expected to be anything more than a "stop" gap” one, The only issue on which there is a clear majority is that of war, debts and. It is Improb- able, observers believe, that M. Chantamps will survive.

Choirs and tables swung as weapons when a party of Chinese youths fought with Europeans in the Majestic Cabaret, Des Voeux Road, last night and the Police Emergency Unit was called to the scene to restore: order. There were no ar... rests and no one was serious- ly injured.
There are several theories, as to the cause of the fight. The assistant manager and a dancing instructor were the two Europeans most con- spicuous and four young Chinese were their antagon- ists. Two of the Chinese were battered about the face but the Europeans suffered no hurt.
In the course of the fracas, tables and chairs were swung girls screamed shrilly and pollea whistles brought a crowd to the door. A number of patrons of the place attempted to intervene, and they too were involved in the general confusion, the litter of chairs and tables and the fly- ing figures of the more active fighters, cont
