CLUB TURF FRAUD Bookmaker Tricked Of
£15,000,
THE MAN AT THE TÁPE MACHINE.
Trickery in a famous London club, that led to a bookmaker being defrauded, it is alleged of £16,000, has created a sensation in the West End and business circlesuits

Mr. "B," his unsuspected con- federate, would be at the tape | machine. The moment the first two letters of the winning horse were spelt out he would hurry to the main room and, by a clever Code, signal the winner to Mr.
···Mr. "A" would then casually, say, "I've got a hunch for so and so put a tenner on for me," will you?"
So cleverly and casual" did these two men work the trick, mingling in a few losers, that no suspicions were ever aroused until "Mr. B's" haste from the tape machine attracted atten- tion.
A watch was kept and the fraud was discovered.
