WHOLE WEEK'S NEWSPAPERS IN ONE.
By winning the St. Andrew's Stakes, Mr. L. Dunbar's Liberty Bay, ridden by Mr. Leo Frost, established a new re- cord for the 11⁄2 miles and maintained his undefeated record. for the 1932 season, at the fifteenth extra race meeting held at Happy Valley on December 3. Among the many sur- prises, the defeat of Mr. Chan Tin-son's Woodland Stag in the race for "A" class-Australian pontes was the greatest. Wotin, a speedy little sprinter from the Kwong Sai stable,' ably ridden by Mr. E. 0. Butler, caused the downfall of the Australian crack, who had to be content with second place. throughout the race.
A full report is given in the OVERLAND CHINA MAIL.
The Annual Produce Show at Shek Wu Hui was officially opened by the Colonial Secretary, the Hon. Mr. W. T. Southorn, who was accompanied by Mrs. Southern. He was welcomed at the gateway by Sir Robert and Lady Ho Tung, the Rev. H. R. Wells, Chairman of the show and by Mr. E. H. Williams, the Northern District Officer and other members of the Committee. Apart from the entrants, which were not as numerous as last year, the show was a". complete success. The variona agricultural exhibits were of a much higher standard than at the last exhibition. An outstanding feature of the show was the success of Tung Ying Hok Po, who, besides carrying off most of the first prizes in the Foreign Vegetable Class, was awarded a first prize in all the other classes with one exception.
The Show is fully reported in the OVERLAND CHINA MAIL
With the Shanghai day dying at the foremast the Pre- sident Taft docked at Kowloon on November 25, with the victorious Hong Kong Interport football team on board. The Chinese members of the team, together with Mr. Mok Hing-kwal, prolonged their stay in Shanghai in order to take part in Charity matches with the Combined Chinese. eleven.
