Medway Officers Avenge Earlier Defeat.
CIVILIANS' SECOND DEFEAT OF THE SEASON.
[By CENTRE HALF.)
THE Hong Kong Hockey Club
Arst eleven sustained their second defeat of the sea- son when they lost to the H.M.S. Medway Officers' eleven by the odd goal in three in a return match played on the U. S. R. C. ground.
Yesterday's match was not so fast as compared with the former gamo which was played on the Navy ground when the Club defeat- ed the Medway by the only goal
scored.

BORDERERS DEFEAT

GALLETLEY SCORES TRY IN LAST MINUTES
WOODS AND GAGE OUTSTANDING FOR THE LOSERS
PLAYING
(By Touch Judge.)
ING at Sookunpoo, the Borderers Rugby fifteen met with unexpected resistance from the H.M.S. Devonshire team, and It was not until the final minutes of the game that they secured a try | when Galletley went over in the corner för Lloyd tó fail with the kick. These were the only points of the match. The naval team! fielded a weak three-quarter line, and it was only the hard work of their pack and the steady play of Gage at fall back that prevented many tries. Both teams tackled strenuously and the dribbling of the forwards was a feature of the game.
Galletley's try was well deserved, being the result of a fine three-quarter movement in which Martin displayed liis amazing turn of speed. Galletley took the ball when almost on the line and was almost forced into touch.

The Club were without the ser- vices of A. A. Dand, their skipper, J. L. Tetley, on the wing, and G. Duncan, their goal-keeper, and com- menced the game with only nine mèn, A. A. R. Botelho being a late- comer, and causing W. Reed to full!

W. E. Williams, the Welsh International, while being speedy, was apt to be too sel- fish, especially in the 'second half when at least three gift goals were missed through Wil- liams failing to pass the ball to either E. V. Reed or Francis. The Medway showed perfect un- derstanding, and the stick-work of Gurrey at centre-forward was pret- ty to watch. White played his us- ual hard game at centre-half and was well supported by Colpoys and Majendio..
Gage, the naval full back was one of the outstanding players of the match. He gathered and
kicked with excellent judgment, and in spite of a nasty scalp injury `sustained touching down in the face of A forward rush, he continued to play after treatment, and did not spare himself in the lengt. Barnes played the best game inj the Devonshire three-quarter line,]

Towards the interval, the Medway became dangerous, and eventually Currey broke through to score with a fast rising shot.
