According to press re- ports, whose accuracy the Navy Office denies, but which are based on intelligent anti- cipation, the Navy Ministry is seeking the sanction of a Y460.000.000 naval- replen ishment programme, spread over a period of four years.

The programme includes two cruisers, of 18.590-tons each, ene aircraft carrier of 18,000 tons, seven destroy- ers, six submarines, one minelayer of 5,000 tons and several minesweepers and torpedoes, as well as five ad- ditional air squadrons. Reuter.
