1 cup diced pineapple

2 cups diced peaches

1 cup diced pears

2 cups fruit juices

2 tablespoons lëmon juice

2 tablespoons sugar

32 whole cloves

2 cups brown sugar.

11⁄2 cups spiced pickle Juice. Stick cloves in fit side of him. Spread with sugar and add juice. Bake 30 minutes in moderate oven. Baste frequently Serve warm" or cold. If desired, ham can be Moll- ed on Saturday and then baked on Sunday and served for dinner.

Brown and orange, one of the smartest autumn, colour schemes, was shown at a "tweed and travel" dress show, held by a clever British designer.

A mixed brown and orange dia gonal tweed coat, three-quarter length, and plain skirt, had a tunic jumper of orange cloth, decorated with large covered cloth buttons, a smart.outfit for a country race meeting.

Tweed laced gloves were one of the novelties. Long gauntlets of tweed bad either chamois leather. or kid palms for golf or shopping.

Black and white, green and brown mixtures and navy and white checks all looked their best, I notice, with hand-woven wool jumpers, or knitted multi-coloured waistcoats.

UNUSUAL WEDDING.

The principals in a Wesleyan wedding at Middlewich, Cheshire, including the bridesmaid and best man, were deaf mütes.
