WHY is it that some advertisers carry

Why is it that those of the great National Advertisers possess an air of distinction," while those of small competitors fall to hit the mark?

The answer lies in the MAT SERVICE. Matrices or stereos will ensure your not being dependent on the various, assortmert of types, to which each periodical în turn subjects your announcements. Your ad- vertisements will carry a pleasing uniform- ity, a professional touch, through the MATE SERVICE

A WHOLE WEEK'S NEWSPAPERS IN ONE,

As the result of a fracas, which occurred on board the Dollar liner President Jefferson, when a Chinese steerage passenger ran amok with a razor, while on a voyage from Manila to Hong Kong on the evening of August 31, one Chinese man died and two others were seriously wounded. The dead man, who was suffering from sickness when brought aboard the ship at Manila, is said to be the only eye-witness of the affair. The amok was only disarmed after Mr. Ahrens, Chief Officer had shot him in the leg with CHINA MAIL a revolver bullet. A full story is given in the OVERLAND

'During a terrific struggle with an intruder in the sit- ting room on the first floor of a flat in the Quarry Bay dis- trict in the early morning of September 6, a Chinese school boy, aged 15 years, was stabbed to death. The youth was slashed with a rattan worker's knife, picked up, it is stated, from the ground floor by the murderer. Before making his escape by jumping from the verandah, the intruder in- jured four others, a Chinese man and three women ocen- pants of the house. Shortly before midnight, Police arrest- ed a suspect five doors away from the scene of the crime. The man was suffering from injuries to his legs and was removed to the Government Civil Hospital4A story is published in the OVERLAND CHINA MAILIS
