"MATA HARI"—QUEEN'S THEATRE

"Mata Hari," Metro-Goldwyn- Mayer's sensational drama, is at long last to be presented at the Queen's Theatre to-day..

It is the thrilling story of ther life and death of one of the most: amazing characters of the World War, Mata Hari, the beautiful spy. So vivid a personality, so alluring a beauty and so nimble a wit could have been portrayed by only the very few, and Director George Fitzmaurice did not err, when he selected the great Greta Garbo for: the role of Mata Hari. She gives a performance which ranks with the finest and most genuine por- trayals in screen history, and which will be paraded as a standard for actors of both stage and screen.

in Ramon Novarro, the leading male role, lives up to his usual ex- cellent achievements, whilst Lionel Barrymore as the Russian Military Attache once more proves the sound judgment of those who awarded him the acting honours for 1981.

The locale of the story is Paris in the early days of the World War, and the gambling casino is sup- posed to represent a fashionable rendezvous located just outside the capital.
