The Harbour Office Reports for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yester day gave a fair movement of ves sels with a low tonnage. Freights were low. both the inwards and throughs falling to reach Ave figures. The total tonnage enter. ed was 21,110..

There were five inward regis- tries, of which three were British and two of four figures, while of the six throughs, six were British and none of four Agures. One vessel arrived in ballast

Passengers entered during the period. Included four Europeans and 431 Asiatic deck, British .ves- sels carrying 282 out of the total in at classes.

POST OFFICE NOTICE.

Information has been received from the Japanese Post Office that the Siberian, mails held up by floods in Manchuria have now been diverted from the Chinese Eastern Railway and forwarded by the Northern Route to Vladivostock They will arrive in Kobe on the 28th and should reach Hong Kong about September 2nd. The home- ward mall is forwarded by the Northern route from Vladivostock but no such interruption has occurred. This route however gives a weekly Instead of the normal bi-weekly service and the time of transit is! several days longer.
