Beat Bowling Green And Civil Service In Semi-Finals

SPEY ROYAL CUP CONTEST

The Club de Recreio were again indebted to the brilliance of R. F. Luz for further progress in the Spey Royal Cup. In their semi- final game against the Kowloon Bowling Green Club on the .K.C.C. green yesterday the Portuguese four won by 22 shots to 18,

Adam Holland strove hard to give the Bowling Green victory, but he met in Luz, his victorious rival in the Open Championship, an opponent who was giving nothing away. The Reccelo took the "lead on the sixth head and maintamed their advantage throughout,

in spite of a good rally by the K.B.G.C. on the nineteenth head.

The Chinese Recreation Club have enjoyed a magnificent sea- son in the Tennis League. For the fourth year in the history of the Club they have carried off the “A," "B" and "C" Championshipa in the same season. Had Miss Enid Lo, the Colony's lady champion, been able to compete this summer, they mat have won the Mixed Doubles League to make a clean sweep of all the major titles.

Yesterday the "C" team concluded an all-triumphant season by defeating the Club by the maximum margin. This is the seventh time in of ten seasons that the Chinese Recreation Club have wen Dr. Charles Forsyth's Shield. Only the Chinese Y.M.C.A. and the South China A.A. have been strong enough to rob them of their supremacy.

The Kowloon Cricket Club also terminated their fixture card in the "C" Division when they lost ingloriously to the University. The Peninsula side has lacked balance throughout the season, and their poor record of two wins and a draw out of fourteen matches does not give rise to much optimism for the future of their "A” UHË
