Routes Not Yet Mapped.

No definite news could ba learn- ed as to the route the steamers will follow from New York.to Japan, but! it is presumed they will be handled in a manner similar to those operat ing trans-Pacific only. This is Mit- sui cargo exclusively. It is said that the company has agreed to up- hold the tariff of the North Atlan- tic Far East Conference and that of the Japan Atlantic Coast Con- ference. The Trans-Pacific service apparently will be continued as pre- viously, with steamships calling in- bound here, and proceeding north for the return voyage.

The Luckenbach Steamship Com pany announces its entrance into At- the passenger trade between lantle and Pacific Coast ports with its weekly freight steamera. The line will also engage in the passen- ger business between Pacific Coast ports. The Luckenbach Line oper- ates sailings from New York every Wednesday to the Pacific Coast, and each steamer has accommodations for from 'four to eight passengers. Richmond Gets Port Status.
