Cleaning" The

Complexion Two Treatments

The very latest idea for improv ing the complexion has the merit of complete simplicity.

11

It consists of adding a teaspoon- ful of salt to a quart of luke-warm water and drinking this (not very: pleasant) beverage an hour before breakfast. It is advisable to take one glass at first and to work up to the full quantity in a day or two. | But ultimately three glasses must be the "dose" if the complexion is to be improved.

This solution is not absorbed by the intestines, but passes rapidly through, cleansing the digestive | tract on its way. Take it for one week, and you will be surprised at the difference in your eyes and skin. į

If orange juice is substituted for the first cup of tea, and an infusion of camomile nowers-eight flowera

in boiling water-is taken last thing at night, the first part of the treatment will be complete.*

The second half of the pro- | gramme involves the trial of a com plexion mask. This, if applied to the face at bedtime, after washing with good soap and softened water, will do wonders for the skin. Mix an ounce of barley meal with an ounce of ground almonds (bitter). Melt a little honey by standing it in

a. bowl of hot water, and mix with the meal and almonds until a work- able paste is formed. Spread thick- ly upon the face and neck, and leave on as long as possible. Wash off with warm water followed by cold.

Another excellent "mask" which can be left on the face all night, is made by mixing the white of an egg with three tablespoonsful of, milk. The egg abould be beaten until stiff and the milk added gradually— beating all the time. Smooth the mixture over the face and wash off In the morning with cold water.

Finally, throw. away all your old powder puffs and buy a new set. Scrap your old rachel' or natural- tinted face powder, and "Invest in a box of the new peach shade which seems to be universally becoming. After that you may salute the smiling morn with a good grace, *-
