U.S. Paper's Report of a Customs Raid.

Under the heading, "Honolulu Customs Needs Drink of Common- sense," the Shipping Register of San Francisco, states:

Being accustomed to genuine liquid refreshments with his meals, which are tabooed by the prohibitionists, while meretricious bootleg flows madly along on the river of crime, and can be had any where afloat or ashore, a foreign globetrotter, while at Shanghai, 0th July had laid in a case of beer and a case of wine to take care of his needs until he reached the humor- ous twelve-mile limit outside the Golden Gate.

Another curious inconsistency of the dry law. The customs service at Honolulu not only seize his bear. 5th July
