Included in the idle Bri-}| tish vessels were 57 oil tankers, of 210,687 tons net, of which 15, fo 60,361 tons net, were motor ships. Japan and *Canada In addition, there were laid up 14 other motor ships, of 42,086 tons net, and 10 sailing vessels, of 1,582 tons net.

Decreases of the following amounts are shown at the centres named:-Liverpool, 86,000 tons net; River Fal. 39,000; Gareloch 16,000; Glasgow, 14,000; Manches- ter, 11,000; and Milford Haven, 10,000.
