There was an enthusiastic gathering at the Peninsula Hotel last night when an inauguration dinner was held by the three newly-formed units The of the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps - Anti-Aircraft Light Automatic Corps; The Army Service Cadre; and the Anzac Company.
It was a brilliant function which was attended by over 130 members of the units and some friends. The guests of honour were His Excellency the Gen- eral Officer Commanding the Troops, Major- General J. W. Sandilands, C.B., C.M.G., D.S.O., and Commodore A. H. Walker, O.B.E., R.N. Major C. M. Manners, O.B.E., présided over the gathering.
