BUNNY AUSTIN AND DAVIS CUP SHANGHAI CRICKET FRED PERRY SECURES
RECOVERS FROM MINOR
OPERATION
IN PRACTICE FOR BRITAIN'S
VITAL MATCHES.
ITALY GAIN
ADVANTAGE
Our own Correspondent sends reassuring| news regarding the recovery of "Bunny Austin," Great Britain's No. 1 ranking player. An opera- tion to his nose proved to be very satisfactory, and he is now able to indulge in fairly strenuous prae- tice matches. He has by no means fully recovered, but the mere fact that he has again gone into prac- tice has been sufficient to send British stock sky high. Great optimism prevails regarding Britain's chances of wresting the Davis Cup from the tena- cious grip of the French defenders.
