MR. A. BUCHANAN.

Death of Former C.N.C. Engineer.

The death occurred at Ayr, Scot- land, on March 19, of Mr. Augus C. M. Buchanan, formerly Chief ebgineer in the China Navigation Company.

Mr. Buchanan joined the China Navigation Company in 1899 as third engineer, afterwards serving as second engineer then as chief. which position" he held for many years. He retired In May, 1980, and went to Scotland. He was of a kindly disposition and was held in high esteem by his employers and colleagues.

Mr. Buchanan is survived by his yife, son and daughter and two Brothers, one of whom Is Mr. George Buchanan, the well-known local engineer.
