Fenner, who United States accompanied by Mrs. Rischbleth, Mr. H. J. Badger, Mrs. Fenner, after a stay of 20 months Barrow,, Miss R. Barrow, Mrs. Abramowski and two children, the ¡in Manila.

Hon. Mr. and Mrs. F. Boyce, Mrs. A. Mackay Sim, Mr. Lister Henry, Mr. W. H. Swaney, Miss M. E. Moore, Miss K. R. Wemyss, Mr. W. Barow, Miss E. Barrow, Miss D.

Admiral Fenner, who was inter- viewed by a China Mail reporter, on his arrival this morning, has re- linquished his command of his 15th. U.S. Naval District in order to assume command of the Second Light Cruiser Division.

"I have been to Hong Kong off and on, many times," he said, "my first trip out this way being in 1899 when I first came out to Mani- la for the American Navy. On that occasion I returned again in 1901, and although I see. many changes I still think It is the most beautiful place in the Far East."

Admiral Fenner is not atopping over in Hong Kong and is not pay- ing any formal calls, but is leaving by the same ship for Seattle, where he will proceed to Boston to take up his new command on the U.S.8. Trenton, after one month's vacation. Like all old Naval men. Admiral Fenner prefers the life at sea to the shore positions.

"My last position was ashore," he said, "in charge of the Naval Yard at Manila, but I am now going back to the sea. The division of which I am assuming command is at present on the Atlantic, but changes will be made and probably we shall be transferred to the ¡Pacific."

In regard to the Sino-Japanese | trouble, Admiral Fenner said he prefered not to express any opinion, bt thought that as far as Shanghai 23rd May was concerned any repetition of

fighting was unlikely..
