E. T. Scott In Windermere Fatality.

London, Yesterday, Mr. E. T. Scott, Editor of the Manchester Guardian has been found drowned in Lake Winder mere.

Mr. Scott, accompanied by his son, boarded a dinghy to go out to his yacht. In midstream the dinghy capsized, but both occup anis managed to get clear. The boy reached the up-turned keel and clung on, whilst the father, who swam to wards the shore in order to get as xistance. The last thing the boy

was a strong swimmer,

At Cambridge, Massachusetts, eight under- graduates have been expelled as the result of a raid by scores of shouting young men on the dormitories of the Radcliffe Women's College. A riot ensued, and the police had to use tear gas bombs to disperse the students.

The trouble started when undergraduates be- gan serenading the girls as they were going to bed. Later the students broke into the dining-room and removed the gong as a trophy.
