READER'S DESIRE.
Second Division of Scottish League.
A reader desires the pub- lication of the League Table of the Second Division in the Scottish League. This is im- possible as Reuter omit the results of the Second Division matches in the Scottish League in their cable from London. To publish the table from a London paper would mean that It would be roughly a month behind the times.

DOWNFALL.
Becomes Greengrocer to Repay Stolen Money.
"THREADBARE STORY,”
A former solicitor, who has been working as a greengrocer to make restitution for frauds in connec. tion with the estate of a master of Westminster, School, where he had been educated, appeared London Sesalons.
William Douglas Shearly San- ders, aged 32, was sentenced to 12 months in the second division for fraud.
Mr. J. F. Eastewood, prosecut- ing, sald Sanders, as a solicitor. was asked to wind up the estate of a Mr. Liddle, a master at West- minster School, who left about £50,000.
Sanders opened a banking de-l count for money he collected for the estate. From the accounti there was drawn £900 to "self." £500 to a Weat-End hotel and £2,250 to someone in France.
There were records of payment of fairly large sums to the Uncles Club, Berkeley Hotel, the Savoy Theatre, the Cafe Anglais and so
on.
Proceedings were started against Sanders, and in November he was struck off the rolls.
Mr.
(for
Walter Frampton Sanders) said he was articled to! his father, and when he came of age in 1920, he was admitted to the roli.
The father broke down in health in 1925, and with the experienced man out of the business, and the son, who was still a youth having to conduct it, old clients fell away. The practice In 1929 was not pay. ing.
"The rest is the usual story-a threadbare story in these courts," continued Mr. Frampton. "He tried by all manner of means
and speculation
otherwise-to make good. He failed.
"With the assistance A little money provided by relations he
opened a fruiterer's shop at a sea- side resort, and by his own efforts made it pay.
"One of the things he offered to the Liddle family was the whole Не of the profits of the business.
is a solicitor who has become a greengrocer and fruiterer."
Mr. Cecil Whiteley, passing sen tence, said it was one of the most distasteful of a judge's duties to have to pass sentence on a mern- ber of Sanders' great profession.
