MEDWAY DRAW WITH STRONG CLUB XV.

POOR HANDLING.

Three-Quarters Prove Disappointing.

[By "Scrum Half.") Under ideal weather conditions a rousing game was witnessed at the Valley yesterday when H.M.S. Medway and Submarines forced a very strong Club fifteen to a draw of three points-all.

The Medway are to be con- gratulated on their very fine show- ing for they wore without the ser- vices of three of their best men and, I understand, found difficulty in raising a side for the game. Lt. Ryder, probably the best fly half in the Colony, was an ab sentee, as was Lt. David, the three-quarter, and also Lt. Linton,

a powerful forward, who repré-

A Correction.

The race is particularly interesting this year in that the Australian wonder horse, Phar Lap, has gone all the way from Australia to compete against the American cracka such as Mate and Twenty Grand-Reuter.

The Club fifteen was almost an interport fifteen, eleven of those on view having received invita- tions to visit Shanghai. They made one change in their line out, S. J. H. Fox coming in to partner Jenkins instead of C. 3. D. Law.
