I have received a report of the Guides from Miss Lopes, who is Acting Captain during Mrs. Cressy's absence in England.

These reports give some idea of the activities in connection with the school. The activities are not perhaps as wide as we would wish and yet we fear to advance too quickly. As it is the advance- ment of the position of Chinese women is very remarkable, and provided they go slowly and steadily forward this advance- ment is perhaps the greatest in- fluence for good in China to-day.
