London, Yesterday.

Dartmoor Prison, the nearly century-old convict prison, near Prince- town, in Devonshire, was the scene of an amazing prisoners' mutiny on Sunday.

Trouble, it seems, had been brewing and simmering for over a night or so, and boiled over on Sunday morning, when the prisoners were being exercised.

The struggle for supremacy between the prisoners and warders lasted over two hours, finally being retained by the latter.

In the conflict a dozen warders were seriously injured. Between sixty and seventy convicts were also injured, and these casualties had later to be removed to hospital.
